Propaganda & Political Psychology
This s an essay on social Psychology and Politics. I expect to convey the awareness that many in the general population of the world have their thinking implanted on their minds by tools of mind control. The use of indoctrination as a tool to control and orient large segments of population is discussed, along with its obvious advantages. For example, it does not require the frequent covert (or overt) use of torture to create docile individuals. Its dangers for the population however are enormous. Although indoctrination has been used before in history, it is being used more frequently in the modern world for political purposes, and can it lead to the kind of society that those with the resources to use this tool want to create. Nowadays the know-how regarding its use has advanced together with the advance in the ways to reach people's consciousness, and the unconsciousness as well. It is surprising though that comparatively little has been discussed anywhere regarding the tool itself and the types of society it can be used to mold. In this paper I posit that the modern tools for indoctrination, the known world-wide espionage on regular citizens and the possibility for intimidation, will together suffice to lead and mold a society in any desired direction. I will concentrate however, on indoctrination, because I consider it to be the most insidious, dangerous and at the same time the least amenable to proof based on modern sociological or statistical studies. The shaping of a society or orienting the direction for a society to take is, to my knowledge, a new phenomenon, aided presently by a refinement of both the tools and the know-how to use them.
